"I ordered a spiral ham through curbside pickup and returned it within the hour due to inaccurate weight and poor value. When the order was loaded into my car, I had no reason to inspect it — I assumed I was receiving a reasonably sized ham for the price. It wasn’t until I got home and unloaded my groceries that I opened the bag, saw the ham, and immediately noticed how small it was. The original price was $28.74, and even after a $10 discount, the final cost was $20.18. For the size of the ham received, it still did not feel like appropriate value. Because of that, I weighed the ham exactly as I received it, unopened and unaltered, with all packaging still intact (foil, netting, glaze packet, seasoning packet). The total weight was about 5.14 lb, while the label stated 5.76 lb at $4.99/lb. The label already accounts for tare weight, so this means I was charged for more weight than I physically received. Had the weight been accurate, I may have kept it and purchased a second ham. Instead, I contacted the store and returned it. For comparison, immediately after returning the ham, I went to my favorite local meat market where I usually purchase all my meat. In my experience, I stopped buying meat from H-E-B because the quality had gone significantly downhill, and I previously had to request several refunds due to poor quality. Since shopping at my local meat market, I haven’t had to return anything — the price, quality, and taste have consistently been far better. The only reason I ordered a ham from H-E-B was because I didn’t think my meat market offered spiral hams. Now that I know they do, I’ll be purchasing my hams and turkeys there going forward. I’m sharing this with photos so other customers are aware. Accurate weights, fair value, and consistent quality should be basic expectations, even when discounts are applied."

"Ordered sliced apples through curbside at H-E-B Plus on Saratoga for my 2 year old. Opened them at home and gave him one which he refused to eat and I realized they were all old and expired but dated good thru (1/18/26). Completely unacceptable, forgot items my last trip (laundry detergent, and a 6 pack of sodas) love the store but come on!"

"The HEB Plus! on Saratoga is the best. Very big but still well organized and I find things easy to find. I shop off hours but I have never had a line more than 1 or 2 people in front of me. Associates are friendly, great choice of groceries, lots of organic and grass fed options and brands, rarely anything ever out of stock. This is definitely my go to grocery store"

"I’m incredibly disappointed in this HEB, not because the food is bad, (I mean moldy strawberries a few times but it happens no biggie) but in the bakery for cakes. Back in January I placed a specific order in person for a cake for my toddlers birthday, the next day I went to get it, and they looked at me confused, someone had to make the cake and I spent an hour waiting. I’m patient, I understand miscommunication happens in shift changes, it was a bummer but they still made the cake. Not even two months later, it’s my husbands birthday I go in person, place the order, receive a call the next morning that the image I chose is discontinued and I said okay, the girl on the phone SAID the baker would design something close to it, which I thought was cool, I’m super easy going no biggie, I get there to pick up my cake, to be told it was never made, and the girl looked at me like I was stupid when I said the girl on the phone said someone would hand design it. I left with no cake. Devastated. How does that happen twice? I’m not complaining to get something free, but to make someone aware of what’s going on in that part of the store. The cakes are very good, that’s why I choose heb, and yes I know I could’ve grabbed a premade one, but I asked for a specific filling, for a special reason and I’d rather spend my money where it’s valued and appreciated."

"I usually love my HEB but disappointed today. My cake was misspelled and they offered to fix it but I didn't have the time. All they said was, sorry. Happy 2th Birthday!"
